North Uplands School is a fast developed international high school. We strive to foster a learning community that is dedicated to providing an enriching educational experience through multiple learning environments; both within and beyond the classroom setting. Our aim is to facilitate academic excellence and inspire students to achieve success in their educational, personal and career endeavours. We are currently looking for a High School Principal to lead the school growing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the school’s program operates within the Ministry of Education guidelines, and school policies.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the high school, including scheduling, and facilities management.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, students, and parents to create a supportive learning community that values collaboration and communication.
- Manage ONSIS and maintenance of Ontario Student Records, generating student report cards and Ontario Student Transcripts.
- Prepare for high school inspections from Ontario Ministry of Education.
- Oversees the hiring, training and orientation of Academic staff.
- Oversee the formulation of study plans for each student according to their current grade level and university program choices.
- Ensures the development of guidelines for student behaviour, and ensures that an acceptable level of behaviour is maintained in a manner.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school and the broader community, building strong partnerships and promoting positive relationships.
- Provide general administrative support to the School staff.
- Any other duties assigned by the directors.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience in a school leadership role.
- Strong understanding of Ontario curriculum standards, educational best practices and private high school system.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of educators to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to educate, mentor, and guide students and staff effectively
- Sound decision-making abilities and effective problem-solving skills.
- Experience in international school is preferred.
- Experience or knowledge in guidance/admissions is an asset.
- Open-minded, willing to embrace challenges, a good conflicts conciliator.
- Able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent customer service skills and organizational skills.
- Proficiency at using Microsoft Office application.
- Self motivation and organized.
