Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Service Technician / Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including diesel engines, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and leadership skills to oversee maintenance operations effectively. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Operate and repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools and welding equipment.
- Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of service tasks to minimize downtime.
- Lead maintenance activities for fleet vehicles such as tractor-trailers and farm machinery.
- Supervise junior technicians and coordinate service operations to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist in training team members on new repair techniques or equipment operation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Service Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and power tools usage.
- Experience with fabrication, welding (including soldering), and working with schematics is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial equipment safely.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance including transmissions, alignment procedures, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, air brakes, shocks & struts.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in automotive repair and service technician roles.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting regularly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation.
- Relevant certifications or training in diesel engine repair or related fields is a plus. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to quality work and safety standards while providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
