Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient healthcare team. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by promoting independence and improving quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional status and develop individualized treatment plans based on their needs and goals.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and safety.
- Implement therapeutic interventions for patients who works in various settings
- Conduct discharge planning and coordinate care transitions to ensure continuity of therapy services.
- Work with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, and those in post-acute care
- Collaborate with case management teams to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures to support ongoing recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in occupational therapy practices, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and relevant clinical guidelines.
Requirements
- Valid Occupational Therapist license or certification in the state of California.
- Proven experience working with diverse populations such as pediatrics (including early intervention), geriatrics, ICU patients, acute care settings, or outpatient clinics
- Strong knowledge of ADLs assistance, discharge planning, case management, and care plan development.
- Familiarity with outpatient care protocols preferred
- Excellent understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and speech therapy principles as they relate to occupational therapy.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across various healthcare settings including inpatient units and outpatient clinics.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with families and caregivers effectively. Pay: $ $58.02 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 16.0 per week
