Delivery Driver/Sales Associate

Position Summary

The ReStore Driver supports the daily operations of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore by providing excellent customer service, conducting sales transactions, assisting with merchandising, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. This position also involves operating the ReStore truck for donation pickups and ensuring the safe transport, handling, and processing of donations.

Driving & Donation Pickups:

• Safely operate the ReStore donation truck to pick up scheduled donations.
• Conduct daily truck safety checks and report any maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the truck's interior (daily) and exterior (weekly).
• Ensure efficient scheduling and pickups.
• Load and unload donations with care, securing items to prevent damage during transport.
• Interact professionally with donors, providing receipts and expressing gratitude for their contributions.

Accountabilities:

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with purchases and inquiries.
• Perform sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Answer phone calls in a professional and timely manner.
• Clean donated and purchased products to ensure items are ready for display.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, bathrooms, windows, and shelves.
• Reorganize aisles and shelves to create an appealing and neat display of merchandise.
• Safely lift and move furniture, doors, and other large, donated items as needed.

Merchandising & Inventory

• Work with Manager and backroom supervisors to keep donations intact and organized.
• Assist in processing, pricing, and displaying donations on the sales floor.
• Help with store recycling efforts and general inventory organization.

Other Responsibilities

• Proactively reach out to potential donors and businesses to solicit donations.
• Assist with special Habitat events as needed.
• Adhere to all ReStore policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds, with assistance as needed.
• Ability to maneuver furniture and other large items over varied terrain, including stairs and doorways.

Other Requirements

• Must be eligible to operate Habitat vehicles (clean driving record and At least 5 years of experience in Driving).
• Valid Driver's License
• Demonstrate dependability, initiative, and a positive attitude.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation to work.
• Ability to communicate in English; additional language skills are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail, customer service, or driving larger vehicles like box trucks.
• Familiarity with Habitat for Humanity's mission and values.
• Forklift certification or willingness to complete forklift training.
