Cypress School is a non-public school dedicated to supporting students through individualized education, behavioral support, and community-based learning. We serve _students ages 5–22 with developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges_.
*Pay Rate: *$80,000-$85,000/year
*Job Overview:*
Are you looking to join a collaborative and creative team of professionals who work with students who have developmental disabilities and communication challenges? If so, Cypress School has a truly unique and rewarding opportunity for you! As a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant at Cypress School, you will collaborate with a team of professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Education Specialists, and other Speech and Language Pathologists and assistants, to help students develop and strengthen their expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language skills. The core ideals of Cypress School are functional communication and community success.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Plan, organize, and conduct individual and/or group Speech Services
* Support Speech and Language Pathologist in conducting formal and informal assessments to identify students' communication needs
* Collaborate with the IEP team to develop meaningful goals and programming
* Support the implementation of communication programs in the classroom and community settings
* Work collaboratively with student’s teachers, classroom assistants, families, other specialists, school districts, and administration to creatively support the speech and language needs of the individual students
* Monitor and document student progress, collecting data on goals and providing quarterly progress reports
*Requirements:*
* Valid California SLPA license
* Experience working with children and young adults who have been diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, or other learning, communication, and/or behavioral challenges
* Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students
* Experience with augmentative communication systems (high and low tech) extremely helpful
* TB test, Livescan clearance, physical and valid driver’s license
* Flexibility and the ability to work with students aged 5-22 years old
