Our rapidly growing distribution center in Orlando, Florida, is seeking a diligent Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing the inbound and outbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process. You will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents, stocking merchandise, processing outgoing orders, and preparing shipments for transit. Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential. A strong commitment to safety is required, including adherence to all company protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE ). This position involves significant physical activity, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and operating warehouse equipment. Familiarity with warehouse operations and the logistics industry is a definite advantage. We are looking for reliable individuals who can contribute to a productive and safe working environment. Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring timely deliveries to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Accurately document all received and shipped goods.
- Stock received items in appropriate warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders according to specifications.
- Prepare shipments for carriers, including labeling and consolidating packages.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Conduct inventory checks and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear all required PPE , such as safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Basic understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety .
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving documentation.
- Proficiency in operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, and potentially forklifts (certification preferred).
- Must be able to wear and use all required PPE .
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
