Tech Services – Digital Workspaces We provide the core technology that powers the Department's Digital Workplace, supporting citizen‑facing services and colleagues across government. You will join a multi‑disciplinary team delivering solutions such as Digital Signage and assistive technology, working with stakeholders to create reliable and innovative services that make a real difference.
Digital, Modernisation & Efficiency – Common Capabilities We deliver critical services that support major transformation programmes modernising how DWP works. Using research‑driven development, we automate processes and streamline workflows to help agents manage customer contact efficiently, reducing errors and improving experiences. You will work with experts in design, architecture, analysis and engineering, scaling and integrating our platform across multiple service lines.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst, leading business analysis activities within complex projects and environments.
Expert in stakeholder engagement, driving clarity and alignment across multiple teams and delivery strands.
Skilled in mentoring and supporting other BAs, fostering growth and sharing best practices.
Committed to continuous learning and development, actively building and enhancing your BA toolkit.
About the Role As a Senior Business Analyst in DWP Digital, you will work on large, complex, and cross‑cutting products or services, sometimes across multiple projects simultaneously. Your role is key to enabling the delivery of digital solutions that achieve strategic business outcomes and improve experiences for millions of users. You will lead workshops, interviews, and focus groups to understand business problems and user needs. Collaborating with senior technical and business stakeholders, you'll ensure requirements and acceptance criteria align with our digital roadmaps. You'll need a strong understanding of business processes and how they connect to departmental strategy.
You will be a leader within our BA community, owning business analysis activities and championing continual learning and development. You may also have line management responsibilities and play a leadership role in capability building and recruitment, helping shape the future of the BA profession within DWP Digital.
You will promote DWP Digital delivery methodologies, set standards across the function, and educate BA teams on principles, methods, and tools. Using your experience of delivery frameworks, you'll translate business and user needs into actionable deliverables, working collaboratively to define and achieve value outcomes. You'll also work closely with senior stakeholders to prioritise projects in line with strategic goals.
Details, Wages, and Perks
Location:
Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.
Hybrid Working:
Spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face‑to‑face in a hub.
Pay:
£57,946 to £68,205.
Pension:
28.97% employer contribution, worth up to £19,758 per year.
Holidays:
26 days rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi‑time, plus public holidays.
