As a Product Designer at M&S, you’ll work across the entire product lifecycle—from concept to delivery and beyond. You’ll be part of our passionate Product Design and UX Research team, creating seamless experiences across our website and app, in‑store interfaces, and tools that empower our colleagues behind the scenes.
We believe the best ideas come from working together. That’s why our teams spend three days a week in the office, staying close to customers and each other. Collaboration fuels creativity—and we’re building a culture where both thrive.
Seniority level: Entry level, Employment type: Full‑time, Job function: Design, Industry: Retail.

After completing your probationary period, you’ll receive a 20% colleague discount across all M&S products and many third‑party brands for you and a member of your household.
Competitive holiday entitlement with the potential to buy extra holiday days.
Discretionary bonus schemes based on personal objectives and business performance.
A generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and Life Assurance.
A dedicated welcome to our teams with a tailored induction and a wide range of training programmes.
Amazing perks and discounts via our M&S Choices portal to maximise your financial and personal wellbeing.
Industry‑leading parental, adoption and neonatal policies, providing support and flexibility for your family.
Access to a wide range of wellbeing support, including our 24/7 Virtual GP and PAM Assist.
A charity volunteer day to support a cause you’re passionate about through a dedicated day away from work.
Responsibilities
Create everything from wireframes and UI designs to animations and brand visuals—bringing ideas to life with high‑quality, user‑focused experiences.
Turn insights into action by using research, testing, and analytics to refine and improve designs.
Work hand‑in‑hand with product, engineering, and research teams to deliver human‑centric solutions that make a real impact.
Spark creativity by leading design sprints, workshops, and collaborative sessions that keep ideas flowing.
Shape the future of our design system, ensuring consistency across web, app, and in‑store experiences. Work through ambiguity and create a structure and plan for your work and your collaboration with others.
Qualifications
You love collaborating and finding creative ways to work with teammates—wherever they are.
You’ve designed for both web and native apps and know the patterns, languages, and technologies that make them shine.
Human‑centric design is your passion, and your portfolio shows how you understand people and solve real problems.
You balance big ideas with practicality—seeing how concepts meet commercial goals and fit within technical limits.
Feedback is fuel for you. You seek it out, learn fast, and turn insights into better work every time.
