We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is critical for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities include preparing shipping documentation, verifying package contents against orders, labeling shipments, and coordinating with carriers. The Shipping Clerk will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our outbound logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and accurate record-keeping. A strong understanding of shipping software and procedures is essential, along with a commitment to workplace safety, including the correct use of PPE. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify accuracy of orders and quantities before shipment.
- Label all packages correctly with appropriate shipping information.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain organized records of all outgoing shipments.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status and any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper Lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving and put-away of incoming goods as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the logistics department.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative or warehouse role with shipping responsibilities. Proficient in using shipping software and basic computer applications. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to perform tasks involving occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs. Strong understanding of shipping procedures and logistics. Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE. A proactive approach to problem-solving.
