We are hiring a motivated Shipping & Receiving Associate for our busy facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This dual-responsibility role is integral to our logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for managing the receiving dock, accepting deliveries, verifying shipments, and stocking received goods, as well as preparing outgoing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all documentation is accurate. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential. Safety is a top priority; you must adhere to all company safety policies and wear appropriate PPE. This role involves regular lifting of items up to 50 lbs and operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks. Join our dynamic team and play a vital role in our supply chain success.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log all incoming shipments.
- Verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Operate pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified) to move inventory.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including order picking, packing, and staging.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.
- Ensure the receiving and shipping areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Conduct inventory cycle counts and assist with stocktaking.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a general warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving logistics processes.
- Commitment to workplace safety and consistent use of PPE.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
