Team Leader – Cabin and Optional Systems (ECS)

As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next-generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity, and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers the latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.

Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).

►Personal and technical leadership of the team consisting of System and Lead Engineers
►Responsible for:
■ Planning and coordination of the systems development, qualification, and certification activities within the team
■ The coordination of the development activities with other engineering teams in regards to system interfaces and overall integration into the helicopter
■ The administrative aspects of the team
►Ensure that the design of systems installations meets the applicable technical, functional, and regulatory requirements
►Review and check:
■ Design data of the helicopter aircraft systems
■ Requirements, qualification, and certification documents
►Write and update documentation where required to support the team

►University degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
►Minimum 8 years relevant aeronautical engineering experience in at least one of the relevant systems (ECS is a strong asset, cabin interiors, or optional equipment: rotor brake, hoist, windshield wipers, Emergency Flotation Systems, etc.)
►Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing a small team (directly or technically)
►Minimum 2 years’ CAD user/reviewer experience (Siemens NX or other CAD software)
►Proven Supplier management skills to support engineers within the team
►Minimum 2 years’ experience with Aircraft or Helicopter certification (CS 23/25/27/29)
►Helicopter experience an asset
►English – verbal and written at a minimum B2 level
