Job Description Summary:
As a Senior Network Engineer with Rocket Software, you are part of a global, fast-paced IT organization with a primary mission to provide world class service to software development labs and internal departments ensuring our employees have access and communication systems to perform as the highest level. You will implement equipment installation plans based on specifications, maintain each component of the network and troubleshoot issues. You are responsible for monitoring and maintaining Rocket Software’s corporate network and voice components, assessing the functionality of the network routers, switches and related equipment ensuring all network and voice equipment is maintained to corporate and industry standard best practices. As a technical leader in networking infrastructure, you will work on a team interacting with development labs to design complex infrastructure and deliver the project on time and on budget. You will identify, analyze, and resolve system issues and report on deficiencies in configuration, process, and documentation and develop and recommend corrective actions. You will collaborate with senior members of the team to influence and make suggestions that aid in the designing of technical solutions and mentor junior team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and monitor network infrastructure for availability and performance.

Evaluate new networking technologies and strategies.

Participate in project planning and delivery activities.

Work multiple project and work streams concurrently and deliver projects on time and on budget.

Participate in roadmap and architecture planning activities.

Respond to network and/or voice related incidents, troubleshoot and assess and provide remediation plans.

Maintain network and voice standard operating procedures, diagrams and maintenance plans.

Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure the network stays operational.

Required Qualifications:
CCIE/CCDE certification with extensive networking experience.

5-8 years of experience in traditional WAN and LAN using Cisco products (routing, switching, wireless) and protocols (such as MPLS, HSRP, VPC, Port-channels, Spanning Tree, SNMP).

5-8 years in a complex, distributed and multi-OS environment with overlapping technologies.

5-8 years of experience with Cisco Security products (ASA firewalls), VPN clients and VPN technologies such as site to site VPN and DMVPN, IDS/IPS products such Cisco Firepower.

5-8 years of experience with routing protocol (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), QoS and traffic shaping, PBR and PFR.

AWS or other cloud infrastructure experience.

Excellent customer service-oriented attitude and desire to support end users with issues of varying degrees of complexity.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Understanding of Radius and AD authentication.

Thorough understanding of troubleshooting complex systems and services from client through network/connectivity and server/storage.

Ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal support and guidance.

Ability and motivation to mentor staff members and share knowledge.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Desire and ability to document configurations in support of a larger team.

Experience with monitoring software such as LiveAction and Nagios products

Experience with Cisco ACI (Application Centric infrastructure) technologies and Nexus 9K

Experience with Cisco Firepower firewalls and Checkpoint firewalls or similar technologies

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in load balancing technologies particularly F5 products, SSL offloading and PKI management.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
