Senior Solution Architect -Digital e-Commerce EMEA (m/f/d)

Abbott Information Technology (IT) is responsible for delivering Information technology solutions and services to over 130+ countries globally. This role will form part of the Digital Technology Services group, defining solution architecture and technology roadmaps delivery aligned to the Diabetes Care in the Digital and eCommerce technologies.

As a Senior Solution Architect, you’ll have the chance to play a critical role in the delivery of best in class consumer experiences providing thought leadership on digital business capabilities, operating models, and solution design. Architectural responsibilities include social, mobile, web, and marketing automation solution.

We are looking for a senior technologist with expert-level knowledge of e-commerce, customer relationship management, integration, DevOps technology, and cloud computing. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the solution design and architecture across mobile, web, marketing, and e-commerce solutions and the integrations they require.

This is a delivery-focused role, reporting to the Associate Director, Digital & e-Commerce Delivery.

• Establish and implement contemporary digital and e-commerce architectures capable of meeting a continuously changing industry and market environment to support Abbott’s strategic goals.
• Deliver application architectures and development patterns for web and mobile across digital and e-Commerce.
• Business and technical stakeholder management supporting the delivery lead in managing timeline, risks and issues and improvement activities
• Aligning solution design with the enterprise architecture function, attending the architecture review board as an ecommerce subject matter expert and providing input to impact of strategic directions on existing / transitional architectures.
• Translating business requirements into system level design and detailed technical architecture for solution delivery on Digital, integration and e-Commerce solutions. A process integration mindset with a focus on scalable integration architectures required
• Lead, coach and guide the technical delivery team for a highly complex, business-critical eCommerce solution integrated with multiple external partner systems.
• Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, helping with technical trade-offs, and driving best practices.
• Accountable for all overall solution design including facilitating the ideation, solutioning, quality review of all solutions for the diabetes care division.
• Leadership of CI/CD strategy and landscape design for all DTS delivered systems for the delivery team and driving improvement of branching / release strategy and change processes.
• Help identify opportunities for and drive Continuous Improvement activities.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry standards and collaborate with fellow team leaders on the prioritization and execution of ongoing platform improvement initiatives.

• B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline/ Master’s Degree preferred
• Minimum 8 years of experience in delivering large scale IT solutions in an enterprise digital / commerce landscape
• Leading the implementation of Salesforce solutions in a commerce setting
• Experience using as Salesforce or comparable technologies in a commerce setting.
• A strong background in technical design / architecture for enterprise ecommerce solutions, payment providers, commerce process flows and data integrity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience in communicating across various levels of the organization. The role will require a self-starter with a capability to work in a highly regulated industry

• Experience with Lean / Agile development methodologies
• Experience implementing Adobe Experience Manager and Magento in a headerless architecture for web and mobile.
• Experience with integration technologies using micro-services, Kafka based event-driven integration architectures preferred
• Strong experience with solutions respecting security and data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) and PCI compliance requirements
• Experience in technical design / architecture for web content and digital experience management platforms.
• Good experience with Agile SCRUM development
• Applied knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and best practices
• Experience or familiarity with technologies and best practices in areas not limited to: Customer experience, CRM, marketing / sales automation, web content management, mobile solutions, social engagement, event bus, audience selection and API
• Excellent track record in designing solutions for complex and cross-functional programs
• The candidate must have knowledge in preferably Java and / or strong background in React / Angular / Node.js
• Experience developing or working with Cloud-based technologies such as Amazon Web Services is highly desired.
• Excellent oral and written communication, presenting, meeting facilitation, negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in matrix global organization with working in virtual geographically disparate teams being the norm
