About
Just Cats Veterinary Clinic is dedicated exclusively to the medical care of feline family members. Our mission is to provide exceptional veterinary services tailored to the unique needs of cats, ensuring their health and well-being. Our office working week is 4 days, Monday through Thursday. We currently offer paid time off, paid holidays, and employee discounts. We currently do not offer health insurance, but we are considering options available. Hourly pay is based on an individual's skills and experiences.
*Summary*
We are seeking a Veterinary Technician licensed in Virginia to join our team at Just Cats Veterinary Clinic. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality medical care to our feline patients. Your expertise will support our veterinarians in providing compassionate and effective treatment.
*Responsibilities*
* Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
* Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory work as required.
* Dose calculations (anesthesia, injections, oral medications)
* Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
* Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care.
* Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition.
* Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
* Ensure a clean and safe environment for both staff and patients.
*Requirements*
* Desire to work with feline patients
* Veterinary Technician licensure in Virginia
* Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary practices.
* Experience with aseptic techniques, CPR, and critical care is preferred.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
* Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
*Preferred proficiency*
* Dose calculations (anesthesia, injections, oral medications)
* Medication and injection administration
* IV catheterization
* Blood sampling/phlebotomy
* Triage
* Physical Exams
* Vitals
* Ultrasound imagining
* Radiographs, including dental
* Cystocentesis and urinalysis
