Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) - freelance/project based

We are redefining the tax and accounting industry, which requires us to make bold decisions and excel in everything we do. • Guide and support the core web application team with turning our main application from a PHP+React+BFF+service-based backend mix into a modern static-served React frontend + BFF & backend services and e2e test coverage. Services are written in NodeJS, Java, & GoLang, AWS Cognito-based user management, AWS serverless approach for backend, MySQL databases, GitLab and CDK for deployment, Cypress for testing. Component library based on Chakra UI.
• Support to create guidelines on how to utilize theming/variants to avoid hard-coding CSS properties inside the main application.
• Build up documentation & coding guides to make it easier for other teams to add/maintain their domain-specific sub-pages.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to solve problems and foster a balance of velocity through scalable, asynchronous decision-making practices.

• Skillset: strong skills in building complex web applications with React, REST & GraphQL, localization (PhraseApp), testing (Cypress or comparable), experience working with component libraries & shared themes, backend experience with at least one strong typed language (Java or GoLang), AWS & CDK.
• Ideally also prior PHP-experience, AWS serverless (API Gateway & Lambda), docker.
• Experience with proper structuring and organising of complex web-applications.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Be excited to collaborate with people across Taxdoo towards our shared mission - Building the Financial Operating System for e-commerce.
