The Solutions Architect for Databases will focus on developing and evangelizing technical initiatives within Database alliances, supporting the Product Management, Alliances team to achieve revenue success with Enterprise customers. The role will team up with the enterprise application vendors to find technical go to market possibilities, will document technical possibilities and drive market visibility and will use and evangelization approach through events, webinars and social media content. The work will focus on Software as a Service and on-premises database software built for Enterprises (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MongoDB, Postgres)

Success in this global role will involve proactively planning and executing projects to provide strategic unique solutions to solve business challenges. A deep understanding of the Database market is required, including the personas and motivations of product managers and sales teams at the alliance vendors.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, Cloud & Applications - Product Management - Alliances, success will be measured by the ability to show influence in the integration of solution capabilities as well as the enablement of revenue associated with those Alliances. This role provides a unique opportunity to be directly exposed to multiple areas of business, both at Veeam and the Alliance Partners. While not a direct sales role, the Solutions Architect also serves as an escalation point and subject matter expert for the alliance partners and Veeam pre-sales organization in the respected area.

Your tasks will include:
  • Investigate, create and evangelize new and interesting capabilities within the Database alliances such as SAP, Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake and more by investigating the partner’s portfolio and Veeam’s offerings. Based on being the SME, make recommendations for stronger and tighter integration with the partner’s solutions which support the joint alliance business plan
  • Passion for all things Databases, work with our Database alliances & internal teams to develop joint reference architectures, configuration guides, and best practices documents to be made publicly available
  • Able to investigate new software solutions and determine where if any integration points are available. Able to effectively communicate any technical limitations and changes needed. Develop integration examples
  • Become technically proficient in all things Veeam, with the ability to discuss with confidence the features and functionality and how they provide business value and solve business challenges
  • Assist Veeam and alliance partner field teams in enterprise opportunities across all GEOs when needed
What we expect from you:
  • Proficiency in SAP/Hana, Oracle and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis)
  • Strong knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling with a passion on sharing that knowledge
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools
  • Familiarity in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner)
  • Experience with customer enterprise IT/Cloud architectures
  • Demonstrated solution sales and/or technical presales experience
  • Industry-based experience with data protection technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to present to groups in English
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment; must be a high-energy, motivated self-starter and be able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to adapt to changes in roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to travel 25 – 35%
