Global Sustainability & ESG Director

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a small team of XSYS sustainability experts and guide the management team at corporate level on strategically relevant sustainability and ESG-subjects
• Report to CEO and being key point of contact with private equity company in terms of sustainability & ESG
• Responsible for coordination of periodic internal and external sustainability/ ESG reporting and disclosure according to international standards, the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in particular
• Co-lead with CFO on building up and ongoing development of EU-CSRD reporting including related audit procedures with the group auditor in line with the requirements from regulations
• Coordinate, analyze and operationalize periodic external sustainability assessments, e.g. UN Global Compact Communication on Progress (CoP) and CDP
• Coordinate investor and customer queries concerning sustainability & ESG
• Coordinate and support projects in environmental protection, e.g. GHG accounting, sustainable procurement, and circular economy
• Generate, collect, prepare/ process and provide data and information relevant to sustainability/ ESG, database administration and maintenance
• Manage development of the sustainability/ ESG management system at corporate level, including double materiality assessment, management of impacts, risks and opportunities, as well as relevant, policies, metrics, targets and actions
• Observe, identify and track relevant sustainability/ ESG trends and requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or specialization in sustainability management, environmental sciences or equivalent
• 3 years of working experience in sustainability/ ESG management, preferably within a manufacturing company
• Experience in external sustainability/ ESG reporting, e.g. DNK, GRI, ESRS
• Experience in external sustainability/ ESG assessments and ratings, e.g. UN Global Compact CoP, CDP, EcoVadis
• Experience in GHG Accounting, climate risk and decarbonization management
• Working experience in supply chain sustainability is of advantage
• Working experience in a sustainable finance environment is of advantage
• Working experience in a management environment is of advantage
• Good knowledge and understanding of management systems and frameworks, familiarity with requirements under CSRD/ ESRS in particular
• Sustainability enthusiast with the passion to strive for project and business goals
• Analytical thinking and good understanding of business environments
• Quick comprehension, self-starter mentality and structured workflow
• Good computer literacy and command of MS 365, Excel in particular, ideally experienced in working with online reporting and disclosure platforms
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Project management skills
• Proficient in written and spoken English and German
• Willingness to travel internationally to XSYS locations abroad
