Head of Certification (Zürich, Switzerland)

We are looking for an experienced Head of Certification to join our team and oversee the certification-related aspects of the Sunflower Labs Beehive drone-in-a-box-system.

You will be responsible for managing and supporting the UAS operational approvals of our customers worldwide, for ensuring regulatory compliance of our products and our organization, for continued UAS C-class marking compliance, and for keeping informed about worldwide UAS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Write documentation packages and templates to support our customers with their operational BVLOS approvals for our system
• Take a leading role in creating the certification basis for the product and ensuring that the product is compliant with relevant regulatory requirements
• Support the engineering team with product certification topics
• Monitor developments in UAS regulations worldwide and adapt product and documentation requirements accordingly
• Monitor product changes and perform change impact analyses against product certification and operational requirements
• Participate in the change management process
• Provide design inputs to product development with an eye on regulatory compliance and safety
• Help to develop and to improve the company’s safety management and quality management systems
• Partake in regulatory advisory committees and the development of future drone regulations

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with UAS operational approvals with EASA, the FAA, and other CAA
• Good understanding of product certification regulations, such as CE, UL, FCC, etc.
• Have worked with different authorities to obtain relevant airworthiness and operational approvals
• Have an affinity for requirements, documentation, and processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Masters degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or related field preferred
• Work permit in Switzerland required
