Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to own the General Ledger and support the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close process. This role oversees Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and is responsible for ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong full-cycle accounting experience with hands‑on knowledge of AR, AP, cash management, bank reconciliations, and month-end close, and works closely with finance leadership to ensure financial data is complete, reliable, and audit-ready. CPA certification is not required.
Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Perform monthly bank, credit card, and cash reconciliations and investigate/resolve reconciling items
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation
Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting
Oversee and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
Support cash management and basic treasury activities
Partner with payroll and HR on payroll-related accounting entries
Support audits, tax filings, and other compliance requests as needed
Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable accounting standards
Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
Maintain adherence to internal policies and accounting standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
4–7+ years of progressive, hands‑on accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting, including full‑cycle close
Proven experience owning the General Ledger in a small to mid‑sized or multi‑entity environment
Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP platforms; implementation experience a plus
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.)
Hands‑on experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank and cash reconciliations, and month‑end close
CPA certification not required
Prior experience in construction, project‑based, or multi‑entity environments is a plus
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
