We are looking for compassionate CNAs who have a heart for patients and families. The Certified Nursing Assistant plays a critical role as a member of the Interdisciplinary Group Team. We are dedicated to our mission that all patients and families entrusted to our care will be treated with the highest level of compassion, respect, and dignity./ph3Our Culture/h3pOur culture is cultivated using the following values:/pulliIntegrity: We are honest and professional./liliTrust: We count on each other./liliExcellence: We strive to always do our best and look for ways to improve and excel./liliAccountability: We accept responsibility for our actions, attitudes, and mistakes./liliMutual Respect: We treat others the way we want to be treated./li/ulh3On an Average Day You Will:/h3p(includes but not limited to)/pulliPerform personal care needs after given a patients assignment and attend to his/her requests promptly; if unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately/liliProvide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality/liliMeet safety needs of patient and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.)/liliProvide personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned/liliAssist in dressing and undressing patients, as assigned/liliPlan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned/liliAssist in feeding the patient, as assigned/liliTake and record oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency/liliProvide proper care and observation of patients skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence/liliAssess and report on patients condition and significant changes to the Case Manager; also, being aware of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient and interpersonal issues/liliAssist in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist/liliProvide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning, as directed/liliAssist with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations, such as reminders/liliOffer and assist with bedpan and urinal aid, as assigned/liliAid with light laundry needs if necessary/liliPerform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service, as ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency/liliProvide respite for patients family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate/liliMaintain patients living area is clean and orderly, as assigned/liliAdhere to the organizations documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct/liliParticipate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities/liliRespect patient and family/caregiver environment and patients personal needs/liliAll other duties as assigned/li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliMust be a Certified Nursing Assistant (applicable for all States)./liliPreferred to have one (1) year experience in community health/hospice or medical/surgical environments/liliMust have completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training/liliLicensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements and is in good working order/liliWillingness to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter/liliCurrent CPR certification/li/ulh3Our Ideal Candidate Has the Following Skills and Knowledge:/h3ulliAbility to read and follow written instructions/liliAn Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill/liliAbility to work autonomously with little direct supervision/liliSuccessfully demonstrate tact, patience and good personal hygiene/liliAbility to communicate effectively/liliStrong organizational skills/liliUnderstanding of plan of care documentation/liliFlexible in work hours to ensure the patients receive care as provided in the plan of care/liliAbility to empathize with the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired/liliComfortable addressing issues of death/dying/liliCalm demeanor when entering the patients home/li/ulh3We Got the Perks:/h3ulliTuition Reimbursement/liliPTO and Paid Holidays/liliMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and more/liliHSA 401(k) available/liliMileage Reimbursement for applicable positions/liliAdvanced training programs/liliPassionate company culture committed to the highest standard of care in the hospice industry/li/ulpJoin a team that embraces the reverence of life!/ppEEOC Statement/ppBristol Hospice is an equal-opportunity employer.
