Position: Quality Technician Pay: $22.50/hr - $28/hr Paid weekly Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm Position Summary: Perform all quality audits and tests and maintain appropriate records in accordance to current Quality Standards and Procedures, including incoming material audits, nonconforming material, shipping audits, first piece inspection, new tooling/fixturing inspection, and in-process audits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all quality audits and tests and maintain appropriate records in accordance to current Quality Standards and Procedures, including incoming material audits, nonconforming material, shipping audits, first piece inspection, new tooling/fixturing inspection, and in-process audits. Perform regular calibration on measurement and tests equipment, as required, maintaining the appropriate records and documentation. Assist Engineering and Quality Teams in developing or modifying inspection procedures and processes, including interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and formulas to determine quality and reliability standards. Evaluate data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Notify operator and/or supervisor immediately if changes are required to meet specifications. Provide assistance on SPC charts to monitor process control and product conformance. Assist operators in understanding charting techniques and quality expectations. Provide customers with documentation when requested and investigate customer related complaints and determine root cause with implementation of permanent corrective action. Escalate appropriate documentation to management and recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Set-up and perform destructive and nondestructive testing on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics. Provide a report of inspection findings for analysis and corrective action. Prepare required work instructions. Participate on Kaizen teams, as required. Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers. Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, including walking 2-5 miles per shift. Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop repeatedly for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry items weighing 25lbs – 50lbs from floor to waist and front carry up to 25lbs – 50lbs, repeatedly per shift. Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, and climb short ladders or steps. Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision. Ability to read labels, follow safety and standard operating procedures, and communicate effectively in an industrial environment. 20/30 vision with the use of corrective lenses. Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which include, but are not limited to: Exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises, and vibration from use of equipment. Hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat, and exposure to chemicals. Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mist, gas, or poor ventilation that may affect the respiratory system or skin. Oils: air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience in manufacturing supervision or team leadership; assembly or inventory management experience preferred. Strong understanding of material flow, inventory control, and assembly processes. Ability to interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and production schedules. Experience with ERP systems and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
