About
Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND, is seeking a compassionate and patient-centered Speech Pathologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across the continuum of care. Working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and other team members to design and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support each patient’s functional goals and quality of life. The Speech Pathologist will conduct detailed clinical assessments, interpret diagnostic findings, and deliver both individual and group therapy using current best practices and innovative treatment approaches. You will educate patients and families on communication and swallowing strategies, develop home programs, and provide counseling to support adjustment to communication changes. This position involves timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, participation in care conferences, and clear communication of patient progress and recommendations to the care team. You should be comfortable prioritizing a dynamic caseload, adapting treatment plans based on patient response and medical status, and integrating evidence-based interventions and technology into therapy.
