Software Program Manager
MedEdge Solutions

- Fort Smith, Arkansas, United States
About
MedEdge Solutions is a bootstrapped healthcare technology company serving 340B-covered entities, health systems, and specialty and infusion pharmacies. We are the data people of the infusion and specialty pharmacy industry, helping our clients turn complex pharmacy operations into actionable, defensible intelligence. We deliver a portfolio of SaaS products that power pharmacy data intelligence, and we operate under HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance standards. Headquartered in Westfield, Indiana with a second office in Fort Smith, Arkansas, MedEdge is growing at a deliberate, cash-efficient pace and is building the next durable platform in pharmacy data intelligence.
*The Role*
The Program Manager is the operational backbone of the MedEdge product and engineering organization. This person turns Product Leadership's strategy into shipped software by owning roadmap execution, sprint health, requirements documentation, release coordination, and the cross-functional communication that keeps engineering, professional services, and leadership in sync across our SaaS products. You will partner directly with Product Leadership and the executive team to prioritize roadmap items and product deliverables, then drive the work across the finish line. This is an execution role, not a product strategy role. Product vision and customer discovery live with Product Leadership. You own the system that translates that vision into structured, on-time, auditable delivery.
*What You Will Do*
- Operationalize the product and engineering team by owning the day-to-day rhythms: sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and the working agreements that hold the team together.
- Manage the product roadmap end-to-end across the MedEdge SaaS portfolio, including capacity planning, dependency tracking, and milestone reporting to leadership.
- Work with Product Leadership, the CEO, and the professional services lead to prioritize incoming work, surface trade-offs, and rebalance the roadmap when client commitments shift.
- Author and maintain Business Requirements Documents, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria for every roadmap item before it enters development.
- Run release management across the SaaS portfolio: change logs, release notes, client-facing communication coordination with professional services, and post-release verification.
- Build and maintain the Jira instance as the single source of truth for product delivery, including issue templates, custom workflows, dashboards for leadership, and hygiene standards the team actually follows.
- Build and maintain the Confluence knowledge base for product specs, decision records, and engineering runbooks, replacing tribal knowledge with documented systems.
- Deliver a weekly status report to the executive team covering sprint health, roadmap progress, blockers, and risks, with a clear ask whenever a leadership decision is required.
- Run cross-functional release readiness reviews with engineering, professional services, sales, and support so every release lands without surprising another team.
- Coordinate with the professional services team on client-facing deliverables tied to product releases, including feature enablement timing, training materials, and rollout sequencing for high-touch clients.
- Track engineering capacity, contractor utilization, and outsourced work in one dashboard so leadership can make staffing and vendor decisions with current data.
- Run program-level risk reviews on the active roadmap, identify cross-product dependencies before they slip, and escalate with options rather than problems.
- Leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or equivalents) to accelerate your day-to-day work, including drafting Business Requirements Documents, summarizing engineering standups, generating release notes, and building reusable Confluence templates. AI-first is the default working style at MedEdge, not an experiment.
*What You Bring*
- Three or more years of program management, project management, or product operations experience inside a SaaS or healthcare technology environment.
- Direct experience running Agile sprint cycles with engineering teams, including the practical skill to hold the standards on Jira hygiene, sprint commitments, and retrospective follow-through.
- A track record of authoring requirements documents, acceptance criteria, and release notes that engineering teams actually use without revision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated by examples of executive status reporting, cross-team kickoffs, and difficult conversations about scope or timeline.
- Comfort working alongside a founder-led executive team where priorities can shift inside a quarter, paired with the discipline to push back when the shift breaks a committed timeline.
- Hands-on Jira experience: workflows, custom fields, automation rules, and dashboards. Administration experience preferred.
- Confluence or equivalent knowledge base experience, including page templates, space organization, and content lifecycle.
- Awareness of HIPAA, SOC 2, or another regulated compliance environment, with the ability to factor compliance review into release planning.
- Bachelor degree in a business, technical, or operational discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated AI-first working style. You actively use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or equivalents) to do your job faster and better, you can show specific examples of how AI has changed your output or workflow in the last six months, and you are excited to work in an environment where leveraging AI is the default, not the exception.
*Nice to Have*
- Direct experience in healthcare technology, pharmacy operations, 340B compliance, or specialty and infusion pharmacy workflows.
- Certified Scrum Master, PMP, SAFe, or another formal program management certification.
- Experience supporting a SaaS product organization through a recurring revenue scale-up.
- Experience working with offshore or fractional engineering contractors as part of the delivery team.
- Familiarity with SaaS engineering environments so technical conversations with engineering are not a translation layer.
- Experience preparing engineering and product artifacts for a SOC 2 audit, an internal security review, or a customer due diligence questionnaire.
*Where You Will Work*
This role is on-site, full-time, out of our Fort Smith, AR office at 2120 S Waldron Rd, Building B, Suite 4, Fort Smith, AR 72903. You will be physically in the office during standard business hours.
