We’re seeking a field engineer who thrives on solving problems, teaching others, and keeping critical equipment performing at its best. Your impact
As a remote, salaried, full‑time engineer, you’ll be the face of LECO at customer sites—primarily across Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi—with occasional trips to nearby regions. You’ll keep labs running by installing, upgrading, and servicing analytical and metallographic systems while modeling our ISO‑accredited quality practices. How you’ll contribute
Own the service lifecycle: preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and corrective actions. Commission new instruments and implement update/upgrade kits. Coach users on theory, operation, software, and maintenance best practices. Strengthen customer relationships through clear communication and follow‑through. Travel expectations
Most workdays are on‑site with customers. Plan for up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday–Friday), with additional travel as business needs arise. Growth and training
3–5 months of immersive instrumentation training at LECO headquarters in St. Joseph, MI. Field‑based onboarding alongside experienced LECO engineers nationwide. Annual service training at HQ to sharpen skills and stay current. What you’ll need to succeed
Self‑directed professional with strong written and verbal communication. Detail‑driven organizer who respects site rules and prioritizes safety. Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with AC/DC electronics or the ability to learn quickly. Valid driver’s license with a clean record. Personal credit card or qualification to obtain one for travel expenses. Background in chemistry or military technical training is advantageous, not required. Minimum education
Two‑year technical degree or trade school, or Technical training through prior military service, or Equivalent technical experience/training. Additional benefit
