If this sounds like an environment where you can thrive, keep reading We are seeking a Training Specialist to support user readiness and adoption activities across enterprise technology modernization and sustainment initiatives within large Federal environments. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering instructional materials and training programs that enable users to effectively understand system capabilities, process changes, and new features introduced through iterative releases. The Training Specialist collaborates closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and program leadership to ensure training content is accurate, accessible, user-focused, and aligned with organizational delivery objectives. Duties and Responsibilities
Develop instructional materials including user guides, presentations, videos, job aids, demonstrations, and learning modules supporting system adoption. Deliver virtual, hybrid, and instructor‑led training sessions for diverse user audiences with varying technical proficiency levels. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, business analysts, developers, and operational stakeholders to gather training requirements and validate content accuracy. Update training materials to reflect system enhancements, workflow changes, configuration updates, and new feature releases. Ensure training content aligns with accessibility best practices, readability standards, and organizational style guidelines. Maintain version control and structured repositories for training assets and instructional documentation. Coordinate training logistics including session scheduling, communications, enrollment tracking, and post‑training reporting. Gather user feedback through surveys, workshops, or performance observations and incorporate improvements into future training delivery cycles. Develop visual process flows, system walkthroughs, and scenario‑based learning materials to enhance user comprehension. Support change management and user adoption initiatives by reinforcing key process updates and system usage expectations. Participate in Agile ceremonies and program planning sessions to understand upcoming releases and align training readiness timelines. Contribute to continuous improvement of training strategies, instructional design approaches, and knowledge transfer processes. Knowledge and Skills Required
5+ years of experience in instructional design, training development, or enterprise learning program delivery. Demonstrated ability to create clear, engaging, user‑focused instructional content across multiple formats. Strong facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills. Ability to translate technical system features, workflows, and business processes into structured learning materials. Experience supporting training delivery within iterative or Agile release environments. Strong organizational skills with experience managing training schedules, content repositories, and documentation lifecycle. Proficiency with common training development tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, content authoring tools, or similar technologies). Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups. Knowledge and Skills Desired
Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus. Familiarity with user adoption strategies, organizational change management concepts, or knowledge transfer frameworks. Experience developing accessible training content aligned with Section 508 or similar accessibility guidance. Experience supporting system modernization, sustainment, or deployment readiness initiatives. Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Clearance
