About

Job Details The corporate team with Express Employment International is seeking to fill the role of a Corporate Developer; a sales focused position centered around Franchisee success. This is achieved through managing multi-location territories, monitoring sales, and supporting each franchise through coaching and training. Developers will use motivational programs and corporate-sponsored resources and tools to assist Franchisees with improving their gross margin dollar and client count. A Developer serves as a liaison between Express Employment International (EEI) and the Express Franchisees and their internal staff. They will assess readiness for the Franchisee to expand their business into other territories or via expanded business verticals.
Additionally, Developers will:
Ensure legal and ethical operation of all franchise offices by visiting each of their assigned offices on a bi-annual basis and address any deviations from the Franchise Agreement or inappropriate/ineffective business practices
Attend annual company events such as ILC (International Leadership Conference), SalesSummit, Sales Rally, Developer Roundtable, and other events as required
Participate in the Professional Development - Developer Enrichment Program
We're looking for a dynamic candidate based in the western United States, ideally near a major airport to support our travel-heavy role (expect 60%+). You'll need to be fully available across Pacific/Mountain time zones to collaborate seamlessly with our distributed teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES Goal Prioritization
Able to uncover and clearly define each franchisee’s goal and create action plans to support those goals
Understand key business goals and tools and find ways to align franchisee goals with greater organizational goals
Have clear and influential conversations with franchisees when goals or minimum operating standards are not being met
Ability to motivate self and others to achieve goals and overcome obstacles, including negativity and setbacks
Business Knowledge and Financial Acumen
Deep understanding of sales and staffing
Continuously seeks industry and market trends, including regionally specific employment changes
Stays informed of Express changes and new and updated resources, including systems and support tools
Able to think critically, uses resources including reporting to identify roadblocks and create collaborative solutions that meet the franchisees’ needs
Understand entrepreneur’s mindset, investment, and risks
Influence
Has excellent listening skills and uses questions to gain a deep understanding of each franchisee and their specific goals and needs
Establish and maintain professional relationships for clear and open communication
Maintains high levels of trust through maintaining confidentiality, providing accurate information, and communicating directly and honestly
Understands the needs and limitations of franchisees, using good judgment to meet franchisees at their level of development, and use persuasion to encourage their continuous growth
People Development
Able to develop sales skills and staffing knowledge in others, cultivating independence and self-reliance
Supports and teaches franchisees how to hire and develop their internal teams
Able to think strategically, using business knowledge and influence to create strategic plans for the region and each franchisee
Able to adapt coaching style to meet different personalities and learning styles, using strategies to develop people while also cultivating their competence and confidence in their abilities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree + 10 years of sales experience with a staffing organization
Equivalency:
Will accept a High School Diploma + 15 years of sales experience with a staffing organization in lieu of the Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred:
CSP, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES
Knowledge – How to effectively support a multi-location territory; effective selling, coaching, and negotiating
Skills – Excellent written and verbal skills; Understanding of the financial components of a business unit including P&L, effective pricing, forecasting, and negotiating. Strong problem-solving skills to make effective and appropriate decisions
Abilities – Must have influential abilities; Ability to flex leadership, teaching and coaching styles based on audience, market and need; strong multitasking and prioritization skills; can lead and motivate both sales and operations teams
