About
StableLogic's mission is to help organisations leverage technology to deliver innovative business change with a personal touch. We are a 33-year-old independent technology consultancy and software delivery firm, trusted by leading organisations across Europe and North America. We build software, modernise cloud infrastructure, transform contact centres, and turn data into decisions — all under one roof.
We are an AWS Advanced Tier Partner, ISO 27001 certified and Cyber Essentials Plus accredited, with offices in London, Copenhagen, Boston and Islamabad. Our five-year AMPLIFY strategy is taking us from trusted specialist to category leader — amplified for the AI decade.
*Role Overview*
The Junior AWS Cloud Engineer sits within our StableLogic Ops team and has a primary focus on AWS. You will help design, deploy and maintain cloud-based solutions and data infrastructure for our clients using Amazon Web Services. You will work closely with Senior Cloud Engineers, learning from their experience and guidance while contributing to real client delivery from day one.
This is not a back-office support role. StableLogic both builds the software and runs the infrastructure it sits on — so you will be involved across the full lifecycle, from infrastructure provisioning through to data management, monitoring and security.
As we scale our AWS practice — pursuing AWS Service Delivery designations, Cloud Operations Competency and AI Competency in FY27 — this role will grow with us. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills across cloud computing, DevOps, data engineering and AI-ready infrastructure.
*Key Responsibilities*
* *Infrastructure Provisioning and Management* — Deploy and maintain cloud resources (compute, storage, networking) using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Manage infrastructure in a scalable, repeatable and efficient way.
* *Data Management and Engineering* — Design, build and support ETL and data transfer processes. Work with relational databases (e.g. Amazon RDS, PostgreSQL, MySQL), understand data normalisation principles, and help maintain clean, well-structured data across client environments. Support data pipelines that feed reporting, analytics and AI workloads.
* *Release Engineering* — Help build, test and deploy AWS services using CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. Contribute to a culture of repeatable, reliable releases.
* *Monitoring and Incident Response* — Monitor infrastructure health using tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana and Zabbix. Proactively identify and resolve issues, and collaborate as part of the on-call incident team.
* *Security and Compliance* — Ensure cloud environments are protected from unauthorised access and data breaches. Apply AWS security best practices including IAM, encryption and network security. Support vulnerability scanning and remediation.
* *Cloud Cost Awareness* — Contribute to cost tracking and optimisation across AWS accounts, supporting FinOps practices and helping clients get value from their cloud spend.
* *Documentation* — Maintain clear documentation of cloud configurations, data structures, procedures and troubleshooting guidelines.
* *Other* — Any other tasks we may reasonably ask you to undertake from time to time.
*Key Competencies*
* Technical curiosity and adaptability
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving
* Attention to detail
* Collaboration and communication
*Key Skills*
Don't worry if you don't tick every box below — this is an entry-level role and we will invest in your development. What matters most is your enthusiasm to learn. If you already have experience in any of these areas, that's a bonus.
* *Cloud Platforms* — An interest in cloud computing and a willingness to learn AWS core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC and IAM. Any hands-on experience, even personal projects or university labs, is a plus.
* *Data Skills* — An awareness of or curiosity about relational databases, SQL and how data is structured and organised. We will teach you data normalisation, ETL processes and AWS data services — but if you've encountered any of these already, all the better.
* *Scripting and Automation* — Some exposure to a scripting or programming language (Python, Bash or PowerShell) through coursework or personal interest. You don't need to be an expert — we'll help you build real-world automation skills on the job.
* *Security* — A basic awareness of why security matters in IT systems. We will train you in cloud security best practices including identity management, encryption and network security.
* *Monitoring and Observability* — You'll learn to use monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana and Zabbix to keep infrastructure healthy. No prior experience required.
* *Containers and CI/CD (desirable)* — Any exposure to Docker, containers or CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) is desirable but not expected. We'll introduce these as part of your development.
*Person Profile*
StableLogic requires strong communication skills, a team player with a logical, meticulous mind and a genuine interest in technology and data. We manage a variety of client projects across sectors including construction, telecoms, life sciences and public sector — being a quick learner who can understand clients' requirements and technology is essential.
The following are preferred:
* A degree in computer science, engineering, data science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Basic knowledge of cloud computing concepts and principles.
* AWS Cloud Practitioner certification (or working towards it).
* Basic knowledge of relational databases, SQL and data normalisation.
* Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell.
* Basic knowledge of networking and security concepts.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
