Job Summary: Copper Roots is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Mid-Level Transmission Line Engineer to join our growing team, based in the Austin, TX area. The ideal candidate will have2 to 5years of experience in transmission line designwith voltages ranging from 69kV to 345kV. The candidate should be proficient in PLS-CADD and have a strong understanding of transmission line engineeringfundamentals, industry standards, and construction practices. Key Responsibilities: Assistin the design and analyze overhead transmission lines from 69kV to 345kV using PLS-CADDand PLS-POLE. Perform structure loading analysis, sag and tension calculations, and line routingevaluations. Develop and reviewtransmission line drawings, includingplan and profile, structure, andmaterial assembly drawings. Ensure compliance with industry standards, including NESC, ASCE, RUS, IEEE, and ACI. Effectively communicate,delegate, and leadteam members to successfully execute projects. Coordinate with clientsand other stakeholdersonthe status of the project. Prepareand issuematerial lists,engineering reports, cost estimates,project scopes,and technical specifications. Provide technical support during bidding, procurement, and construction phases. Conduct site visits and work with field teams to ensure project success. Track and manage project metrics including scope, schedule, and budget. Ensure overall quality of design tasks and projectdeliverablesthroughadherenceofquality procedures. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in transmission engineering. Foster a positive work environment and contributeto theknowledgegrowth of individuals and the team. Maintain existing and support the growth ofpotential new client relationships. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of2yearsof experience intransmission line design. Proficiencywith PLS-CADDandPLS-POLE. Familiarity with transmission line materials, structures, and foundations. Knowledge of steel pole structure design. Understanding ofline routing, structure spotting, and conductorselection. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NESC, ASCE, IEEE, etc.). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. EIT certification required; PE license (or ability to obtain) is a plus. Proficiencywith MS Officesoftware. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with transmission line foundation design. Experience with cost estimating andscheduling. Knowledge oflattice tower,concrete,and wood pole structure design. Experience in leading a project team.
