Affirm is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Card Acquisition team within the Consumer org. This role is for an engineer who will contribute to the quality and velocity of full stack development across mobile, web, and backend systems. The team plays a critical role in shaping the first experience customers have with affirm—building trust, clarity, and value from the very first interaction. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing features, participating in technical discussions, and growing your technical depth. You'll work at the intersection of product, design, and engineering to build polished, performant, and accessible user experiences that directly impact conversion, retention, and business growth.
What You’ll Do
Work on tasks that contribute to the team's projects and goals.
Collaborate proactively with team and stakeholders, creating visibility and dialog regarding risks and trade-offs.
Balance speed and quality to hit business goals while protecting systems from downtime.
Contribute to a sense of community by engaging in growth and development activities.
What We Look For
Previous work or internship experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale, experienced with Python or Kotlin.
Familiarity with building blocks of distributed systems, and technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
Ability to take a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, and execute on it by writing clear, well‑tested, and extensible code.
Comfort navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews.
Demonstrated ownership of growth and proactive seeking of feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to support effective collaboration with global engineering team.
Self‑driven, motivated, and capable of navigating ambiguities and solving complex technical problems.
Compensation and Benefits Base Pay Grade: J
Equity Grade: Poland 2
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).
