Role Overview A telephony Clinical dietitian delivers expert nutritional guidance through HIPAA‑compliant telephone or video consultations. This role supports clients in achieving their health goals by developing personalized nutrition plans and offering ongoing support remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct nutrition assessments via phone or video, considering medical history, lifestyle, and dietary habits.
Develop and monitor individualized meal plans tailored to client needs.
Use motivational interviewing (MI), stages of change (TTM), and strengths‑based counseling techniques.
Schedule and conduct follow‑up calls to track progress and adjust plans.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
Document all interactions in electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with privacy regulations.
Educate clients on chronic disease management, weight loss, and general wellness.
Respond to client inquiries via phone, video, or secure messaging platforms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
Registered Dietitian (RD) or Dietitian‑Nutritionist (LDN) credential.
Licensure in applicable state(s), if required.
Experience with telehealth platforms and remote counseling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with digital health tools (e.g., BMI calculators, glucose monitors).
Experience with elderly or chronic care populations.
Bilingual abilities (a plus for diverse client bases).
Knowledge of insurance documentation and billing for telehealth services.
