Help Us Expand Code-Based Firestop Training Across North America
Now Accepting Applications for
Regional Firestop Training Coordinators
The International Firestop Council (IFC) is expanding its reach and we’re looking for highly connected, organized, and mission-driven professionals to help us deliver more training, to more AHJs, in more places.
We’re proud to announce a new contract-based opportunity: the
Regional Firestop Training Coordinator
role. This position is ideal for individuals who know how to build relationships, coordinate logistics, and open doors—especially with AHJs, building departments, and regional code enforcement communities.
About the Role As a Regional Firestop Training Coordinator, your main responsibility is to set up and coordinate firestop training seminars in partnership with local jurisdictions, building officials, and industry groups. You’ll help identify training needs, work with our national roster of instructors, and make sure every seminar runs smoothly, from scheduling to registration.
While presentation skills are a plus, you won’t be the default speaker. However, we may occasionally ask you to step in and deliver IFC training content as needed.
This is a flexible, part‑time contractor position with a monthly base stipend, plus performance‑based bonuses tied to each training session organized and attendee turnout.
Regions We’re Targeting We are actively recruiting coordinators in the following high‑priority regions:
Texas
New York (NYC and surrounding)
If you’re already connected with AHJs or code enforcement organizations in these areas, this is your opportunity to make a real impact!
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate firestop training seminars with AHJs and regional stakeholders
Initiate outreach to jurisdictions, building departments, and associations to host sessions
Coordinate training logistics (host provides): venue, date, instructor availability, attendee promotion
Work with IFC staff to ensure instructor coverage and approved training materials are used
Step in to present IFC training as needed
Submit attendance records and post‑event feedback
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong existing relationships with AHJs, building officials, or industry associations
Proven ability to coordinate training events, meetings, or outreach initiatives
Confident communicator and connector; training or speaking experience a plus
Knowledge of firestop systems and inspection requirements preferred
Professional certifications (e.g., ICC, CFI, PE) are a bonus—but not required
Self‑motivated and able to work independently within your region
Ready to Coordinate Training in Your Area? If you have the connections, coordination skills, and passion to help us advance firestop safety and education, we want to work with you.
Let’s equip more AHJs with the knowledge they need, and make every building safer, together.
