Overview We are designing the grid of the future!
Conduct IBR Dynamic Modeling studies which are particularly related to existing and futureNERCreliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on IBR plant dynamic modelingfor NERC PRC-029-1 compliance.
Responsibilities How you can make an impact:
Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCADandPSSE.
Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit and dynamic.
Perform various compliance technical assessments on IBR facility rating, protection coordination, ridethrough assessment.
Process,generateandmaintaindata asrequiredfor other engineering related studies.
Preparetechnical study reports for all studies performed.
Take responsibility for thetimelycompletion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budgetobjectives.
Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manageras needed.
Perform otherduties,as assigned.
Qualifications Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems
5years+of experience as a power systems engineer
Experience with NERC PRC-024-3, NERC PRC-029-1, NERC MOD-026-1, NERC MOD-027-1, and NERC MOD-026-2
Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
Experience with power systems software such as PSCADandPSSE
Experience with automating/programing in Python
