About
Position Description
Minimum of 5 years of safety experience required.
Employee must have higher level safety credentialing (ie; CSHO, CSST, CHST, etc.)
Conduct surveys, audits, investigations, and gather information and data as required.
Take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm, and for developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and regulations including, but not limited to Federal and State OSHA, EPA and company policies and procedures.
Evaluate and administer company policies and procedures concerning health, safety, and environmental program implementation.
Understand responsibilities at each level of safety leadership and assure consistent interpretation and implementation.
Potentially manage and develop subordinate Safety Professionals within the corporate safety department (mentor).
Initiate and maintain safety awareness programs to improve employee-owner and sub-contractor awareness.
Provide guidance to project management through interpretation of the company/owner/regulatory requirements.
Maintain professional relationship with the owners, safety representatives, the safety and health community in the area. and project management.
Properly conduct and document investigations of project accidents and incidents.
Maintain records, reports and documents that are required to meet corporate, client or regulatory requirements.
Administer safety orientation for all new employees.
Analyze safety concerns and recommend solution to those concerns.
Maintain proper documentation on employee-owners’ safety violations.
Perform project site visits, document findings, and develop corrective action plans for observed risks.
Work with operations leaders during pre-construction activities to ensure safe execution of work.
Monitor Subcontractor compliance.
Incident management & severity mitigation.
MUST be Bilingual (English/Spanish).
This position will be a traveling position, so successful candidate must be flexible and willing to travel up to 90% of time. The majority of the work is anticipated to be in North Dakota.
Typical work week consists of 10-hour shifts, Monday – Saturday.
The Benefits Base salary range for this position is commensurate with qualifications listed above with full benefits. Daily per diem is paid for all days worked to cover expenses of working away from home.
