About Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) at Cornell HR Information Systems supports the strategic goals of Human Resources by delivering technical solutions through Workday, Cornell's human capital management system. We partner with campus stakeholders to provide system expertise, customer engagement, project management, and operational support that enable timely and effective delivery of HR services.
The Opportunity As a member of the HRIS team in the Division of Human Resources reporting to the Assistant Director of HRIS, Integrations and Data Delivery, you will utilize Workday to support the delivery of applications, integrations, and reporting technical solutions. Exercise initiative, creativity, accuracy, and judgment in designing, developing, and implementing technology-enabled solutions to meet the ongoing HR functional needs of the university.
Responsibilities
Assist in working with users to determine problem analysis and construct reports or integrations to support requirements.
Support initiatives to continually audit reports and data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Logically analyze and evaluate how data is generated through transactions and other processing to ensure data integrity and recommend preventive process changes.
Program data extractions for integrations between Workday and internal/external systems and data extractions for migrations to new systems.
Provide functional and technical consultation to other areas of HRIS and to customers.
Take responsibility for related projects and see those projects through to completion.
Build and maintain customer relationships.
Handle confidential data professionally.
Occasional off‑hours support as needed.
Context This position supports Cornell's ongoing CEMI initiative, a university-wide effort focused on modernizing and improving HR, payroll, and administrative systems and processes across the institution. The Integrations and Data Delivery Specialists will help support operational Workday configuration work and day‑to‑day HRIS production support while the broader team focuses on major CEMI project initiatives.

Key Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience supporting enterprise systems, HRIS platforms, reporting, dashboards, ticket triage, or configuration‑related work with attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Excellent customer service, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with faculty, staff, leadership, and cross‑functional teams.
Initiative, sound professional judgment, and curiosity to improve processes, troubleshoot issues, and contribute effectively in a collaborative remote work environment.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in standard query/reporting platforms and tools.
Demonstrated aptitude and experience with data relationships and manipulation.
Customer service and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work both as a team player and independently.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Professional image and track record in handling confidential data.
Ability to cultivate inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Preferred
Information technology coursework or related experience.
Term This is a 2‑year term appointment which may be ended or extended based on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance.
