Position Overview The mission of the Virtual CTE Engineering & Technology/Technology Education Teacher is to provide an outstanding, personalized, and effective learning experience for students by incorporating rigorous curriculum with a data‑driven and student‑centered instructional model.
An Edmentum Virtual Teacher is a highly qualified, state‑certified educator primarily responsible for delivering specific course content in an online, virtual environment. Teachers provide both live and asynchronous instruction.
Virtual Teachers work closely with students, parents, and learning coaches to advance each student’s learning toward established goals. They facilitate student engagement and encourage discussion and clarity around the subject matter.
Deliverables
Teach and support multiple virtual learning modalities: Flexible Virtual Learning, Enhanced Virtual Learning, Targeted Skills Instruction, Special Education.
Provide live instruction (3–5 hours per day) and asynchronous learning experiences.
Grade, give feedback and manage communications with students, parents, and school representatives.
Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests and maintain accurate grade books.
Develop learning resources and engage in continuous improvement of instructional materials.
Additional Responsibilities (Leader‑Assigned Duties)
Mentor new hires: onboarding, training, and professional development.
Support content area improvements and cross‑functional curriculum development.
Provide certified student and teacher support (if assigned).
Success coaching: deliver student‑centered strategies, video conferences and phone calls.
Instructional coaching: develop training materials, onboarding of teachers, leadership development programs.
Working Conditions This full‑time, remote position has flexible scheduling options, working 10 months that follow the academic school year. The role requires independent work, typically 40+ hours per week, with a professional home office setup. On‑camera presentation is required. Equipment is provided.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field and active state teaching license with a CTE Technology & Engineering/Technology Education endorsement.
Three or more years of classroom teaching experience, including at least one year of online teaching.
Ability to clear required background check.
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting adults and children with technology.
Experience teaching online and/or brick‑and‑mortar environments.
Experience with online learning platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively to interpret student data and drive instructional decisions.
Receptive to regular coaching and adaptable to change.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and virtual learning platforms.
Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
Commitment to maintaining teacher certification and professional development hours.

Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $45,000—$50,000 USD. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching; and a flexible Time Away Program. 10 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 1 wellness day, and a winter office closure.
