As a Senior Localization Product Program Manager, you will shape Turnitin’s global expansion by transforming our localization program into a comprehensive strategic approach. You will manage multiple product and program roadmaps, collaborate closely with product, engineering, UX, marketing, and other teams, and drive the execution of localization strategies that guarantee seamless, culturally relevant experiences for international users.
Key Responsibilities
Localization Program Strategy & Execution:
Define, develop, and execute Turnitin’s end-to-end localization strategy, set success metrics, report progress to leadership, and establish best‑practice processes for scaling localization. Oversee project planning cycles, coordinate stakeholders, and manage localization workflows from initiation to launch.
Global User Experience & Quality:
Advocate for global users by ensuring international perspectives are embedded in outcomes. Establish and maintain high‑quality localization standards, linguistic validation, and bug management.
Language Asset Governance:
Maintain and update product documentation, glossaries, style guides, and AI‑ready datasets to support consistent, inclusive brand experiences.
Operational & Vendor Management:
Identify and close operational gaps, evaluate vendors, track budgets, and manage third‑party localization vendor quality.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
Partner with product, technology, marketing, and UX teams to facilitate data‑driven change management.
Process Improvement:
Act as a change agent, optimizing workflows from initiation through post‑launch and promoting continuous improvement.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in program, project management, and/or localization.
Proven track record in crafting localization strategy and leading cross‑functional initiatives to launch successful localized products.
Experience managing localization and linguistics vendors to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Technical proficiency with Translation Management Systems (TMS), Computer‑Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, machine translation, and content management systems.
Mastery of product and program operations, building and scaling processes from the ground up, and navigating ambiguity in an agile environment.
Exceptional English communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across diverse audiences.
In‑depth understanding of internationalization (i18n), globalization (g11n), Unicode, and CLDR standards.
Experience applying AI tools, machine translation (NMT), or large language models (LLMs) to enhance localization workflows.
Familiarity with Agile development workflows, including Scrum or Kanban.
Experience with localization programs or project management in the educational technology industry.
Master’s degree in Localization, Linguistics, International Studies, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong customer‑centric mindset, bias for action, self‑awareness, accountability, quality focus, resourcefulness, collaboration, and cultural awareness.
Compensation Expected annual base salary range: $112,125 to $186,875 per year. This position is bonus‑eligible/commission‑based. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, based on location and other relevant factors.
