Job Title: Counter Sales Associate
Reports to: Branch/Counter Manager
Summary:
Responsible for providing outstanding customer service as per company standards while attending to customer inquiries and
requests in person, and via phone/email including; accurately quoting and entering orders, providing knowledgeable suggestions
and answers to customers questions, pulling orders, stocking incoming material and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
? Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and trusting
environment.
? Ensure that each customer has been greeted and acknowledged by an Active Plumbing associate in a timely manner. Request
assistance from other team members, such as inside sales staff, if needed.
? Explore the customers needs, provide quotes, and process orders in a timely, courteous manner both in person and via phone/email.
? Coordinate deliveries and customer pick up orders with attention to every detail.
? Ensure incoming stock material is neatly shelved in proper location, regularly restock shelves and merchandise sales floor
inventory.
? Accurately pull will call orders prior to customers arrival.
? Assist in acquiring new business leads by informing the Vice President of Sales of any potential new customers or sales
opportunities.
? Endorse and promote company and vendor promotions to qualified customers.
? Accurately and efficiently receive cash, check and credit card payments.
? Maintain a clean, neat and organized work area.
? Retain accurate information on customers and ensure all customer contact information, including email addresses, is correctly
entered into Eclipse.
? Continually organize counter displays identifying new display needs, and removing obsolete displays, while maintaining counter
standards for safety and cleanliness.
? Provide customer assistance, if needed, by helping the customer load materials into their vehicle
? Follow all company procedures while using good judgment and common sense.
? Maintain a positive work environment by presenting ones self, behaving and communicating in a professional, courteous,
respectful, ethical manner with customers, co-workers and suppliers.
Qualifications:
? The ability to work overtime and Saturday hours
? High School Diploma or GED
? Read, Write & Speak English
? General computer knowledge in a Windows OS atmosphere
? The ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
? Reliable transportation and the ability to work at alternate branch locations
? Excellent Listening & Communication Skills
? Experience in the plumbing and/or heating industry
? A general understanding of Active Plumbing Supply Company Products
? Experience with Eclipse operating system is preferred
