Sr. Business Development Representative

Delta ModTech designs and builds custom converting and coating machinery for some of the world's most respected brands. The Sr. Business Development Representative will play a critical role in developing and implementing sales strategies to drive company growth and achieve revenue goals in the converting and coating space. The Senior Business Development professional manages key accounts, closes complex sales cycles, and provides mentorship to junior team members. This role requires extensive sales experience, advanced knowledge of CRM systems, and a strategic mindset to exceed sales targets.

Essential Functions
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Engage in consultative sales conversations to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, leveraging technical and product knowledge to guide their purchasing and design decisions.
  • Proactively identify and reach out to potential new customers via calls, emails, and in-person visits.
  • Qualify leads through discovery calls, research, and initial interactions, assessing the potential fit for the company's products and services.
  • Schedule meetings, demonstrations, and product presentations with qualified leads.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build professional networks and identify new business prospects.
  • Manage the stages of the sales cycle, from initial contact through to proposal, handoff to the project management team and final delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with other internal teams (sales, marketing, product) to ensure the smooth progression of leads and opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings.
  • Use insights to identify new market opportunities and refine outreach strategies.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities within the company's CRM system.
  • Provide regular reports on lead generation, sales pipeline, and customer feedback to management.
  • Serve as a liaison between the customer and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolution of issues.
  • Address customer inquiries, provide follow-up as needed, and ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field; technical background preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial automation industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM systems and sales performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of converting, packaging, and coating processes; familiarity with Delta ModTech's product portfolio is a plus.

Full time, exempt 40 hours per week minimum. Normal office environment. Travel Outside the local area and overnight. Some travel is international. Normally 20%-40% and is variable based on needs but should not exceed 50%.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee occasionally is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand for long periods of time while attending tradeshows. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year (DOE - Depending on Experience)
