Role Description The Assistant General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL. This role ensures smooth daily operations, including supervising staff, managing inventory, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a positive guest experience. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the leadership team to support business objectives, oversee training programs, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and handle customer queries and concerns effectively. The AGM will be responsible for driving sales and cutting costs to achieve profitability , especially on the shifts they work. Additionally, this role involves scheduling, financial forecasting, and assisting with promotional initiatives to achieve operational success. Qualifications Restaurant and Bar management skills, including staff supervision, inventory management, and daily operations oversight Customer service and conflict resolution skills to deliver a high-quality guest experience Experience in training staff to meet operational standards and maintain team efficiency Ability to analyze and manage budgets, financials, and sales forecasting Strong sales and social skills to fill seats and book events. Strong Social Network to find staff and events. Exceptional communication and leadership abilities to motivate a diverse team Understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards in the food service industry Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management is a must. Bachelors degree is a big plus; additional certifications in hospitality management or business are advantageous
