The Role Seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Building Services team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is ready to take ownership of projects and hit the ground running with minimal supervision. With projects moving at a pace, the ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can confidently manage the full design lifecycle from concept through to delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver mechanical HVAC design across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and hospitality Produce and coordinate detailed mechanical designs including HVAC systems and mechanical water services Develop and manage design documentation using Revit and other industry-standard software tools Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and external stakeholders, representing the team professionally and clearly Manage project programmes, deliverables, and design reviews to ensure timely and quality outputs Support and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance where required Collaborate across disciplines within the office and, when needed, across other offices within the group Contribute to the continuous development of best practice within the mechanical team Requirements Ideally 510 years of experience in mechanical building services design, with strong HVAC expertise including mechanical water services Proficiency in Revit; experience with other design and analysis tools is an advantage Recognised qualification in mechanical services engineering (e.g. BE / BEng or equivalent) Working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or a genuine interest in pursuing it Proven ability to manage project delivery independently and as part of a collaborative team Strong communication skills able to engage confidently with clients and external parties as well as within the team Some experience in people or team management is desirable Willingness to travel and engage in inter-office collaboration as projects require Benefits A varied and challenging project portfolio spanning multiple sectors Clear career progression and support towards Chartered status A collaborative, supportive team culture within a well-established, award-winning consultancy Competitive salary and benefits package Skills: Mechanical Design HVAC Management Leadership
