Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and hands-on
IT Technician
to provide technical support for users, devices, systems, and office infrastructure across the Bay Area, California. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and end-user technology issues in an on-site environment. The IT Technician will support day-to-day IT operations, assist with equipment setup and maintenance, respond to technical requests, and ensure users receive timely and professional support. This is an on-site position. Key Responsibilities Provide on-site IT support for users across the Bay Area, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network, printer, and peripheral issues. Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment. Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including preparing devices, configuring user access, collecting equipment, and supporting account setup. Diagnose and resolve issues related to Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, VPN, Wi-Fi, endpoint security tools, and common business applications. Support basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, routers, switches, access points, cabling, and conference room technology. Install, update, and troubleshoot operating systems, drivers, applications, and security patches. Maintain accurate records of IT assets, support requests, troubleshooting steps, and completed work. Provide professional, customer-focused support to employees, contractors, and stakeholders. Travel locally within the Bay Area when on-site support is required. Secondary Responsibilities Assist with monitoring security alerts and triaging events in the SIEM, following established playbooks and escalation procedures. Document findings, create/maintain incident tickets, and perform basic investigation steps (log review, IOC checks) to support incident response. Required Qualifications Prior experience in IT support, desktop support, help desk, field technician, or a similar technical support role. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users. Must be self-driven and able to work productively in an environment with little oversight and micromanagement. Focused on finding areas of improvement and taking ownership of tasks. Ability to work independently, prioritize requests, and respond promptly during business hours. Must be based in or near the Bay Area, California, and available for on-site support as needed. Reliable transportation for travel to local client or office locations.
