We are seeking a District Process Specialist who will play a key role in the continuous improvement of our industrial operations. Leveraging their technical expertise, this individual will analyze processes, develop control strategies, and implement adjustments aimed at optimizing performance. They will monitor systems, intervene in case of malfunctions, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions to enhance efficiency, stability, and quality, while reducing costs and maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.

In parallel, the District Process Specialist will participate in the design of equipment and control systems, leveraging a deep understanding of the facilities. The individual will actively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on design projects, control strategies, and commissioning activities, thereby contributing to innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • District Operations Support

  • Diagnose and resolve process efficiency issues.
    Participate in daily production meetings.
    Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and address technical challenges.
    Conduct root cause analyses and communicate results.
    Propose and implement control or equipment modifications.
    Document processes and ensure team training.

  • Technical Support for Project Management

  • Collaborate in the development of design proposals and opportunity assessments.
    Participate in equipment selection and control narrative development.
    Contribute to the creation of training manuals, work instructions and procedures (SOPs).
    Deliver training using a “train-the-trainer” approach.
    Support project verification and commissioning phases.
    Monitor budget, schedule and project progress.

  • Contribution to the Optimization Roadmap

  • Identify missing data or instrumentation.
    Participate in the selection of analysis and decision-support tools.
    Support the identification of new equipment or technologies.
    Collaborate in the development and updating of company standards.

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
    3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
    Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.
    Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
    Strong analytical mindset, rigor and innovative thinking.
    Experience in technical testing and report writing.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
    Knowledge of fluid dynamics, separation, evaporation, heat transfer, thermodynamics, grinding. (asset)
    Experience in advanced process control and automation. (asset)
    Training or experience in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma. (asset)
    Skills in multivariate analysis. (asset)
    Knowledge of steam and boiler systems. (asset)
    Experience with OSI PI Vision.
