This position can be located in Spring, TX - Beaumont, TX or Lafayette, TX The OT Systems Engineer—DCS and OT Security acts as a subject matter expert on the DCS systems in use at the plants and plays a key role in driving the optimization and reliability of these systems. Duties and Responsibilities: Program, support, and help maintain control logic, HMI displays, and supporting technology that is used in the manufacturing process. Maintain all aspects of both Hardware and Software. Ensure security for installed IT Technology supports plant operations. Troubleshoot advanced abnormal conditions in collaboration with production and maintenance personnel; provide guidance on how to resolve these conditions. Ensure that OT security systems and related system and network architectures are always up to date, secure, and fit for purpose, aligned with recognized cybersecurity standards such as NIST CSF 2.0 and IEC 62443. Maintain and update control system drawings and P&IDs; maintain documentation required as part of the MOC process. Review new technologies and products that can be used to improve or upgrade current systems and hardware. Support capital projects, technical and design reviews, incident investigations, HAZOP studies and other initiatives. Qualification This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering. A focus on chemical or electrical engineering is strongly preferred. Three to five years of experience working with controls systems in refining or specialty chemicals manufacturing are required; Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and operating distributed control systems (DCS & PLCs) in a plant or refinery or the ability to become proficient in DCS & PLC operations is required; experience as a console board operator in a process-intensive operation is highly desired. Strong communication, persuasive, and interpersonal skills are required; the successful candidate must be versatile and able to get results in the absence of formal authority. Willing and able to travel up to 70% of the time, often overnight, to plants in Texas, Ohio, and Louisiana. Familiarity with pumps, dryers, ventilators, hydraulics, high-pressure injection, high temperature applications, reactors, and other common types of process equipment is required. Travel required 60-70%
