Job Summary: The Estimator/Inside Sales professional is responsible for evaluating manufacturing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and developing competitive bid proposals. This role ensures alignment with client expectations while maintaining profitability and minimizing risk. Key Responsibilities: Cost Evaluation:
Review project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to define scope and estimate costs. Estimate Development:
Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and overheads based on current market data. Proposal Management:
Create and present structured bid proposals with clear pricing breakdowns. Vendor Coordination:
Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost efficiency and quality. Risk Analysis:
Identify potential cost drivers and project risks, recommending mitigation strategies. Market Awareness:
Monitor industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and material costs to stay competitive. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and communications in line with company standards. Client Engagement:
Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and provide updates on proposals. Qualifications & Skills: Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). Experience:
3+ years in estimating for commercial or industrial manufacturing projects. Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CAD software and electrical drawings is a plus. Analytical Ability:
Strong numerical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data. Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in estimates and documentation. Communication:
Strong verbal and written skills for client and internal coordination. Team Collaboration:
Ability to work cross-functionally and build effective relationships. Physical Requirements: Primarily desk-based role involving extended computer use, with occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 15 lbs). Requires clear verbal communication and the ability to process auditory information.
