For one of our key clients and world leaders within the metals manufacturing sector, Coalesce Management Consulting (CMC) is looking for a Risk & Opportunity Manager to support the head office team in Luxembourg City, to assist our client in the decarbonization of their existing plants across Europe (1bn USD per site).

Please note that you would initially work as an independent consultant through CMC.

The initial contract will have a duration of 2 years, with options to extend up to 5 years as per the program lifecycle.

International travel to existing sites will be required as per the needs of the business. Hence, mobility and authorization to travel across Europe is required.

The Risk & Opportunity Manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks and opportunities across our steel manufacturing operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that potential risks are mitigated and that opportunities for improvement and growth are maximized. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of risk management principles within the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate risks affecting the organization, including operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Monitor and report on risk exposure and risk management activities to senior management.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure effective risk control measures are in place.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management.

Opportunity Management:

• Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and growth within the organization.
• Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on identified opportunities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
• Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify potential opportunities.
• Provide recommendations to senior management based on thorough analysis and evaluation.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Prepare and present regular reports on risk and opportunity management activities to senior management and stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and perspectives on risk and opportunity management.
• Facilitate risk and opportunity management workshops and training sessions for employees.
• Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive opportunity identification within the organization.
