About

Methodist Health System is seeking a full-time CT Tech (CT Technologist) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department, supporting our mission to improve and save lives through compassionate, high-quality care. As a CT Tech, you will perform a wide range of diagnostic computed tomography procedures for patients of varying ages and conditions in a fast-paced hospital setting. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will use advanced CT imaging technology to produce high-quality images that support timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT examinations, verifying patient identity and exam orders, explaining procedures in a clear and reassuring manner, and ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and safety at all times. You will select and adjust technical factors and scanning protocols according to established guidelines and patient condition, operate CT scanners and related equipment, and evaluate images for proper positioning, anatomy, and diagnostic quality before releasing patients. You will follow radiation safety and ALARA principles consistently, use shielding and dose-reduction techniques, and document dose indices according to departmental standards. The CT Tech will initiate IV access and safely administer contrast media as required, monitoring patients for adverse reactions and communicating any concerns promptly to the radiologist or nurse. You will monitor vital signs when indicated, recognize urgent or emergent patient conditions, and respond according to hospital policies and emergency procedures. Collaboration is central to this position; you will communicate effectively with radiologists to clarify protocols and clinical questions, coordinate with the Emergency Department, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics to prioritize and complete exams, and support a team-oriented, inclusive, and patient-centered culture that reflects Methodist Health System’s values of integrity, compassion, and accountability. Daily responsibilities include reviewing exam orders and patient histories, verifying pre-exam labs or contraindications for contrast, preparing CT rooms and equipment, maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently. You will accurately document procedures, contrast usage, and patient information in the electronic medical record, use PACS and radiology information systems to manage workflow and images, and assist with scheduling or coordinating add-on and stat exams as needed. You will also participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, assist in implementing new protocols or technologies, and help train or mentor new staff and students when requested. Candidates should bring solid knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, radiologic physics, and CT imaging techniques, with the ability to adapt protocols based on patient size, pathology, and clinical indications. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to remain calm and organized under pressure are essential, as this position supports high-acuity areas such as the Emergency Department and critical care units. The role may require working rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and participating in on-call coverage to ensure 24/7 imaging services for our patients. Methodist Health System offers a collaborative, inclusive work environment where integrity and accountability are valued, and where you will be supported by experienced clinical leadership and interdisciplinary teams. In addition to a competitive compensation package, CT Techs are eligible for comprehensive benefits, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement savings options such as a 401(k), paid time off, and opportunities for continuing education and professional growth. This full-time CT Tech position is an opportunity to contribute directly to patient care and outcomes, using advanced imaging technology in a setting that prioritizes compassion, clinical excellence, and teamwork.
