About
We are seeking a Junior Software Developer with a strong interest in building and improving software applications, alongside supporting live systems when needed.
This role is suited to someone with 1–2 years of experience in .NET development who is comfortable working with SQL and is looking to deepen their development expertise. While the primary focus is on development, the successful candidate will also contribute to technical support, helping them build a strong understanding of how systems perform in real-world environments.
The successful candidate will be supported by senior developers and will gradually take on more ownership of development tasks as your experience grows.
*Key Responsibilities *
* Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using the .NET stack
* Write and optimise T-SQL queries for application functionality and data analysis
* Deliver new features and enhancements under guidance from senior developers Troubleshoot and resolve software defects
* Contribute to improving code quality, performance, and maintainability
* Assist with technical support and issue investigation
* Analyse and resolve application and data-related issues
* Support system deployments and updates
* Provide first-line technical support, including issue triage and troubleshooting
* Escalate complex issues to senior team members when required
* Contribute to testing activities to ensure stable releases
* Create and maintain technical and user documentation
* Document common issues and solutions to improve team efficiency
* Work collaboratively across development and support teams
* Learn from senior developers and actively develop technical skills
* Occasionally assist with on-site installations or support when required (not a regular requirement)
*Key Skills & Competencies*
* 1–2 years of experience in a software development or technical support role
* Solid knowledge of the .NET stack
* Experience with T-SQL and working with databases
* Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* Attention to detail and a structured way of working
* Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
* Organised and detail-oriented approach
* Customer-focused mindset with professionalism and reliability
*Qualifications & Experience *
* Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Commercial experience in .NET development
* Exposure to technical support or troubleshooting environments is preferred
* Familiarity with debugging, testing, and troubleshooting systems
* Understanding of technical documentation and coding standards
* Willingness to occasionally travel for site support if required
