About

Store Team Member

Works as a member of the store team to lead an excellent customer and brand experience, and promote sales for Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay. Responsible for running registers, working to maintain sales floor standards, as well as processing a variety of customer transactions including complex sales, deletes, and customer returns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs Point of Sale (POS) responsibilities and processes all forms of payments.
  • Asks each customer for cash donations at POS.
  • Establishes or identifies prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site leader.
  • Completes closing procedures, as necessary.
  • Greets customers that enter in the store and thanks customers leaving the establishment.
  • Maintains sales floor by following floorwork and PPM (picture process map) standards.
  • Utilizes systems, including phones and paging systems to make regularly scheduled announcements.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  • Processes complex sales transactions including deletes and customer returns.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
  • Required to cross train in other positions as business needs.
  • Models Goodwill Core Values Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent math skills preferred
  • Ability to communicate and understand instructions, both verbal and written, in English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a background check, where applicable for position
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
