About
The Clinic Supervisor is responsible for assisting in planning, coordinating and monitoring all operational and financial aspects of the Wesley Health Center; in conjunction with providing effective leadership to clinic staff, oversee the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care. The position works together with the Clinic Administrator in directing the support service of personnel in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Principal Responsibilities:
* Function in as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and leadership team to facilitate JWCH's Strategic and Operational Plan.
* Communicate organizational objectives and vision to the clinic team members.
* Maintain and ensure compliance with all JWCH policies and procedures and regulatory agencies rules and regulations including HIPPA guidelines.
* Ensure and maintain sites specific insurances, licenses, certifications, contracts, MOUs, etc.
* Assist Clinic Administrator with the development and implementation of departmental goals, policies, procedures, budgets, and reporting tools.
* Promote a team approach to delivering quality, cost-efficient care where patient satisfaction is the primary goal.
* Supervise staff to ensure duties are performed effectively and efficiently. Ensure staff provide excellent inpatient care with appropriate orientation, training, coaching and monitoring, while maintaining employee satisfaction.
* Coordinate providers' schedules and the scheduling of patients, monitor appointment availability (access) and implement changes as needed.
* In conjunction with the designated Clinic Administrator, work to enhance provider satisfaction and, when necessary, assist in resolving provider related issues.
* Based on projected enrollment, visits, and utilization, monitor the impact of growth on the facility's existing space plan; propose, plan and direct facility expansion and enhancement projects when required; maintain a professional facility appearance that meets the expectations of patients.
* Assist with the coordination and implementation of quality improvement activities in conjunction with Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance and overseeing the delivery of quality patient care within the Wesley Health Center site.
* Work with the billing department for the timely collection and submission of encounters.
* Enhance health center visibility through community involvement by participating in service and professional organizations.
* Actively participate on organizational and ad-ho committees, as needed.
* On a monthly basis, and as needed, report progress, operational issues, organizational opportunities and threats to the Operations Leadership Team.
* Monitor patient satisfaction through various programs such as the formal complaint process, patient survey, etc. and respond as appropriate.
* Work toward ensuring that customer service standards are met and perform additional duties as assigned.
* Participate in JWCH's customer service training called AIDET on an annual basis.
* Demonstrate an understanding of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) to apply in patient encounters or team discussions.
* Utilize the AIDET communication framework to communicate with patients and team members in a manner that reduces patient anxiety, increases patient compliance, and improves clinical outcomes.
* Become a Master Trainer by participating and learning the AIDET Customer Service Train-the-Trainer Program by JWCH.
* Conduct at least one AIDET customer service training for staff on an annual basis as a Master Trainer.
* Ensure all new and existing team members complete the AIDET customer service training annually.
* Adhere to all organizational safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
* Participate in required safety and compliance trainings and apply learned practices in daily work activities.
* Identify, report, and help mitigate unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards in the workplace.
* Use equipment, tools, and supplies safely and responsibly in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
* Maintain awareness of infection control, occupational health, and emergency preparedness procedures appropriate to the role.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree preferred with three or more years of health care management experience. Education may be substituted by experience.
* Knowledge of Federal, State and local funding designated for health services.
* Experience working with clients or patients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
* Supervisor experience required.
* Bilingual/Bi-cultural (Spanish/English) required.
* Experience in Community Health Care Center preferred.
* Proficiency with computer applications.
