Senior Data Analyst
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be part of the Data Analytics Team based in our 250 Nicollet Mall, MN location. You will support decision making in the Banking & Lending business and translate complex data into actionable insights. Engage and build relationships with banking and lending partners on major projects or initiatives, ensuring clear expectations on deliverables and timelines, understanding business priorities, and consulting on comprehensive analytics solutions and success criteria. Collaborate with business partners to define and interpret business needs, design and document business requirements, apply best practices to negotiate deliverables, execute the requirements and perform required quality control processes to ensure highest quality. Provide end-to-end analytics support, oversight and guidance for analytical initiatives including best practice design principles, approach recommendations, proper governance approaches and effective presentation methodologies in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Partner with data engineers, product partners and business leaders to identify meaningful opportunities to add value to the business utilizing statistics, advanced analytics and compelling visualizations. Continually look for new ways to develop tools and information that help the business to measure and improve its processes and drive value for RBC clients and shareholders. Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to solve complex business problems and tailor solutions that are scalable, verifiable and best fit the user's requirements. Through design and development iteration, agile and documentation, review mission goals and ensure that final reporting and analytical solutions match client needs Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and data quality standards What Do You Need To Succeed?
Must-have Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field Five or more years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics and reporting, or related role Hands-on experience managing and analyzing data in banking and lending (e.g. cash products, cash sweep, securities-based lending, credit card, mortgage, etc.) Strong analysis skills, primarily investigating and explaining trends and variances using statistical techniques. Technical fluency in analytics and reporting tools, experience with statistical programming, and capable of analyzing large data sets using at least one data manipulation language (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS and ETC). Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks as well as adjust to changing priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Proven ability to present and communicate complex, technical materials in a way that facilitates decision making and drives outcomes to non-technical partners. Nice-to-have A self-starter with high energy and a driven curiosity to go beyond the obvious and provide ideas for innovation. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.) or experience in financial services. Experience building and using AI/ML models, predictive analytics or statistical modeling to solve business problems. Hands-on experience with Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, Alteryx or similar tools. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
